Today.

It was beautiful outside! Little windy, but still beautiful. Car-man, SC's and I spent the entire afternoon playing outside.

This is going to be one of my entries into PW's "green"
photo contest. I know the picture isn't great, but I just love his expression.
He hates when I take pictures of him.
I had to bribe him with the popsicle in order to just get a couple of pictures.
If looks could kill...

At one point SC's started to get fussy.

All it took was a little Michael Jackson,
and she was out like a light.

I took this picture today of my neighbors dog.
I just LOVE it.
She was standing in a blue pool,
and it really made her eyes stand out.

My Iphone.

It's a lifesaver. I'm pretty sure I have no idea how I ever lived without the darn thing. These are a few of the reasons why I love my phone so much.

First reason...One of the first apps that I downloaded was a game for Car-man. For those of you that don't know him, he is OBSESSED with games. I mean, the kid was 2 when he first started getting on the Nick Jr website. He gets on there, finds the game he wants to play, and plays it. Like it's no big thing. Needless to say, we were always fighting over the computer. I know it's probably bad to let him play on the computer as much as he does..But it teaches him so much. It's crazy. Anyway, I downloaded some games on my Iphone, and now when we are at a restaurant, or anywhere in public for that matter...and I can tell he is starting to get antsy, I just give him my phone. Crazy thing about it, is that the first time he ever used an Iphone, he navigated it with ease. Like he'd been doing it for years. He unlocked it, without someone showing him how. He found the game that looked interesting to him, and played. Just like he did with the computer. Hell, I'm  still getting used to the damn thing. HA! It just amazes me how smart children are! So this is just one reason I love my Iphone so much.

Second reason is for Sweet Cheeks. She is almost 4 months old (Ugh, I hate reminding myself of that) now and is getting to the stage where she needs to be entertained, but is still to young to really play with anything. A bored baby, makes for a fussy baby. She also is not wanting to sleep much. Today we were sitting in the recliner, and she was starting to get fussy. I knew she was just tired, but she wouldn't go to sleep and wouldn't even take her BOBO (aka pacifier). I suddenly had an idea. I downloaded the Pandora app on my phone, found a Contemporary Christian station and within seconds she stopped crying. Within a minute she was asleep. Ahhh. Freedom.

Third reason is because I love to read. But I hate spending tons of money on books. I downloaded the Amazon Kindle app. and bought my first book today. While I was nursing baby girl, I read. It was amazing, and so relaxing. Not to mention, I have gotten apps. to organize almost everything in my life...chores, grocery shopping, to do lists, bills, EVERYTHING.

Just thought I would share with everyone.

K. Bye.

Tyler Florence look-alike?

So, my mom was at the mall with Car-man the other day
when someone came up to her
to ask if my son's father was Tyler Florence.
HA! I wish.
No, I'm just kidding.
I'm happy with my baby's daddy.

There is definitely a resemblence.
I think it's the eyebrows.

On a different note.
I totally missed "Not Me Monday" yesterday.
So, for a moment we are going to pretend like it's still Monday.
In a way it still is for me.
I work midnight shift and haven't slept since yesterday.
Anyway.

I just wanted to let everyone know that this is NOT my son.
He would NEVER get on the counter completely naked.
Not to mention, I would NEVER let him do that.
NOPE, NOT us.

What's a little cookie, without milk?

Don't you just hate it when a child does something that normally they would get in trouble for,
but they are so darn cute when they do it, you can't help but smile?

I work midnight shift, so I sleep during the day.
Today my mom was watching the kiddos.
She brought them home and put them both down for a nap so I could sleep longer.

When Carter woke up, he never came and woke me up.
He took it upon himself to look in the pantry for something to eat.
Then he decided to come in my room,
with a huge grin that was surrounded by Oreo cookie and say
"Mommy, I WILL eat my dinner."

The little turd already knew what I was going to say.
So he figured he would go ahead and just get that out there,
So I didn't even have to waste my breath.

So, what did I do?

I made him chocolate milk of course!
As if the chocolate Oreos weren't enough chocolate for a day.
Seeing as how I have no idea how many he ate.

Speaking of him saying the most adorable things...
He told my mom yesterday,

"My mommy has been a really good mommy this week!"

Her response..

"As opposed to every other week?"

I'm still wondering what made me so special last week.

Seasons and Show Us Your Life - Cleaning Tips.

I have literally experienced pretty much all of the seasons in a matter of one week.

A couple of posts ago, I posted about how nice it was outside
(70 degrees) and we were going to take family pictures.

Well, not even a full 24 hours went by before it started snowing.

I'm not talking, a little dusting.

These were full blown, baseball size snowflakes.

Everyone, including myself, kept saying.."Oh, it's not going to stick, it's been to warm."

We were wrong.
Very wrong.

It snowed.
and snowed.
and then snowed some more.

It snowed Saturday and Sunday.

Then by Tuesday it was in the 60's again.

Then it started raining.
It rained.
and rained.
(You get the picture, right?)

So now, after all of the snow melting,
and all of the rain.
We have a flood.

Wow, just imagine what this can do to ones sinuses.

Oh, and over at Kelly's Korner she is doing
Show Us Your Life - Cleaning Tips.

Anyone that knows me, knows I don't have any of those.

Well, I have one.
Don't clean.
Well at least don't kill yourself over keeping your house clean.
Just buy a Scentsy warmer.
Put in your favorite scent,
and BAM.
Your house smells DELICIOUS.
I don't know about you guys, but if my house is messy..
Yet, it smells delicious.
I can live with it.
It just seems cleaner.
Especially a lovely lemony smell.
YUM-O.

Sugar Drink

Father Henderson and I did NOT leave our 3 year old chef downstairs
by himself, while we went upstairs to get Sweet Cheeks ready for bed.
He did NOT make up his own concoction of flour and oatmeal,
all by himself.
Nor did he come running up the stairs yelling,
"DADDY, I MADE YOU A SUGAR DRINK!"
He DID NOT say it with such proudness and enthusiasm
that Father Henderson just had to try it.

Not us. NEVER.

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Burp Cloth and Applique Onsie

This week I attempted a burp cloth.
My first time ever.

I thought it turned out pretty good.

Also, another applique onsie for SC.
Along with a fabric bow.
She looked so sweet in it!

I also made a razorback apron for Car-man.
I'll upload a picture of it later.

**If anyone is interested in purchasing any of these items I post.
I would be more than happy to duplicate them, or customize one for you!**

Attempt at Family Portraits.

It was so nice outside yesterday!  I was in the mood to take some pictures, and was going to be taking some of a friend/neighbor. I then got the bright idea to have her try and get some pictures of the four of us. We don't have many because my son does NOT like the camera. I'm pretty sure he is traumatized from all of the pictures I took of him while he was a baby. Anyways, I don't know what made me think anything would change yesterday...

He crossed his arms and refused to look at the camera.

He yelled at me, and purposly messed up his hair.

We thought taking some with little sis, might induce some jealousy.

But that just pissed her off.

So we took a couple by ourselves.

We ended up with this shot.

Not bad. Even though the little turd still isn't looking.

I did get a couple cute ones of Leanna though.

On a different note. Sweet Cheeks tried cereal for the first time yesterday...

and LOVED it!

Baby Knuckles.

I could stare at them forever.
No, it's not thier sweet little feet.
Or tiny fingers and toes.
Not my babys' beautiful blue eyes.
Or even even their fat rolls.
The kind that are in places that you didn't even know rolls could exist.
Like the middle of their forearm.
While all of those things are so precious, and I love looking at them too.
My absolute favorite is...
A baby's knuckles.
Ahh...I just love them.

Just thought I would share.

Oh, and my husband and I celebrated our 1 year anniversary Saturday!

So, I just was proof reading my post. (I don't like to sound like a complete idiot.)
But I realized that the begining of this post sounds like a poem.
I swear I didn't mean to do that.
I'm just that good, I guess.

05 March 2010

Onsie Makeover, and Fleece Shawl.

I found this onsie that Sweet Cheeks wore on New Years.
Since she could really only wear it that one day,
I decided I was going to change it up a little.

I added a sweet little Scottie dog to cover up what was already on it

These pictures are terrible, I know.
But she wasn't in the best of moods.
Plus, I was running late and needed to start getting ready for work.
Plus, Plus, her 6 chins are covering the poor doggies head.
Plus, Plus, Plus...Just kidding.

I also made a fleece shawl type thing to go over it.
This picture really doesn't do it any justice.
But it is super cute and it was super easy to make.

I can't remember for the life of me which blog I got the tutorial from.
But when I do remember, and I WILL
because it's going to bug me until I do,
I will share it with you.

So this blog isn't really a "fun find"...
except that I found the onsie in the bottom of one of Sweet Cheeks' drawers...
and it was pretty fun to make.
But I am participating in "Friday Fun Finds" over at kojodesigns.

Strawberry Dress Redo

When shopping a sale rack my eyes begin to blur,
and I don't even see what I am buying.
I just start grabbing stuff.
If it's cheap, I buy it.
Which would explain why I bought this size NB dress
for my daughter that was born in December.
She can't exactly fit into it anymore.
So I took a plain onsie, and turned it into a bigger dress.
One that will fit my chubby girl.

However, the dress was really hard to get on over her chubby cheeks.
In fact, I had to put it on her by putting her legs in first.
So, I am thinking about just making it into a skirt instead.

It was cute while it lasted though.

Our Week.

So as I am sitting here adoring my precious little girl and all of her sweet "coos" and giggles, I think to myself, "How in the world did I get so lucky?" She turned three months old just the other day, and I can't believe how fast she is growing. I told myself that with her I was going to stop and take everything in. Try to make it last. However, it seems to be going by even faster than it did with Car-man. I am just so thankful to have them both in my life!

So anyway, these last couple weeks have been full of sickness and doctor appointments.
I'm hoping we are all back to our normal selves for awhile!

Here is my car-man, looking all handsome.
It's so hard to get a picture of this big ball of energy.
He NEVER sits still.

Still trying to potty train.
But I'm thinking we're just gonna have to wait till HE is ready.
He will do super good one day, and not want anything to do with the toilet the next.

She had to go get her "2 month" shots this past week.
Of course, a month late. Because that is how I am.
ALWAYS procrastinating.

She also get her brace.
She'll have to wear this for about 20 hours a day until she starts crawling.
Then she will have to wear it at night and during naps.
She will probably have to do that for a couple years.
But hey, whatever fixes her foot!

Always has her tongue out.

I've also got quite a bit of cleaning done this week.
All of my "crafties" are organized and put away.
So, I can finally get started on some projects! YAY!

Oh, and I almost forgot. I got sweet cheeks' ears pierced this week.
I will leave you with this fantastic picture of her while getting them pierced.

Am I a terrible mother?
